Explanation of the ending and the ending of “Agatha Always”

Episode 8 picks up right where we left off last time with Lilia sacrificing herself. Agatha and Rio have a one-on-one conversation where Rio reveals that she is trying to bring Billy back as he managed to escape death and transfer to another body, upsetting the balance of things. Rio also notes that she is surprised at how much Agatha allowed people to believe terrible things about her and what happened to Nicky, leading us to realize that the truth about Agatha is not real. Agatha makes a deal with Rio in which she will return Billy to Rio and Rio, in turn, will finally leave Agatha alone.

Agatha, Jenn and Billy continue on their way, but soon realize that it is a circle. Before Agatha decides to do it all again in hopes of making it to the end, Billy puts on his shoes and the three are transported to the next test. There, Jenn realizes the truth about what happened to her: it was Agatha who cast the binding spell on her. She casts an unbinding spell to restore her strength and disappears, having gotten what she wanted from the road. Then Agatha decides help Billy find Tommy’s soul, and he will be able to move it to another unknown body..

Left alone, Agatha finds an old seed in her medallion, plants it in the open ground and is able to complete the test. She eventually returns to her house where Rio is waiting for her, who notes that she didn’t turn Billy in. Agatha says that the road was supposed to give her a prize in the form of gaining power, but then she realizes that this does not happen. Rio, who wants Agatha back, fights her, but Billy steps up to save Agatha and gives her some of his power.

Rio says one of them can leave and the other can leave. Agatha is initially about to sacrifice Billy, but after he mentions Nicholas, she turns around and kisses Rio, literally kissing her death and sacrificing herself for Billy. Billy returns home and enters his room, where he realizes that there are different sections of the road around him when he hears Agatha laughing…

But wait, memories!

We are now in the final episode, which begins with a flashback. The youngest Agatha is pregnant and runs through the forest alone. As she is about to give birth, she sees Death approaching her and begs him not to take Nicholas. Death tells her that all he can give her is more time, for which Agatha is grateful.

They begin traveling together, with Agatha tricking the witches into afflicting her with her powers, allowing her to absorb them and kill them in the process. As Nicholas grows older, we discover that he created the original version of the Witches’ Ballad as they walked down the road together. The song later changes to the current form of the Witches’ Ballad. One night, after he has gone to bed, Death comes and takes Nicholas away, leaving Agatha to mourn her son and search for more power.

Over the decades, Agatha continues to use the “Ballad of the Witches” and the idea of ​​the road as a way to take their powers. She tricked them into “summoning” the road with her, but when they failed, she angered them by causing them to hit her with their power and allowing it to consume her.

Which brings us back to the present day…

When we see a new coven, we will try to open the road from the first episodes. However, Agatha is surprised that the road is actually real and is put together by the fact that Billy was able to make it real with his powers, leading her to realize that he is the son of the Scarlett Witch/Wanda Maximoff.

Returning to Billy’s room, he is shocked to see Agatha, who has now become a ghost. She tells him the truth about what happened and how he was able to pave the way, making Billy feel guilty for all the lives lost along the way. Agatha, however, notes that he actually saved a life, as Jen regained her power and was freed, rather than dying as Agatha had originally planned. Agatha notes that he needs to get used to this feeling, but Billy resists, saying that he will never get used to this feeling.

He immediately returns to Agatha, where she uses the medallion and his spell book to try to exorcise Agatha’s ghost. Agatha manages to take the locket from him and admits that she is afraid of making the full transition because it will mean she will have to face Nicholas.

Billy decides to work alongside Agatha to try to find Tommy, allowing Agatha to remain as a ghost and work with Billy as his spirit guide. He uses his powers to get rid of the door to the road, leaving behind the names of Sharon, Alice and Lily as a tribute to their sacrifices. The new duo leaves the basement and returns to the real world, where they hope to finally find Tommy somewhere out there, in a new body.

Wait, is that all?!

Unfortunately for us, the Witches’ Road is now closed forever and we have officially reached the end. However, given the fact that this is just the beginning of Billy and Tommy’s journey, there is still a lot left for this new coven to do. Maybe even another team.? Who knows…we’ll have to wait and see.
