A decomposed body was found near Beaumont Highway and Liberty Road in northeast Houston, HPD said.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Authorities are investigating the death of a man after his body was found Thursday in northeast Houston.

The Houston Police Department responded to the 9800 block of Beaumont Highway, near Liberty Road, at approximately 10:15 a.m. and found human remains in a “decomposed” state.

According to preliminary information, the discovery was made by a crew mowing the grass shortly before 10 am.

HPD said it is unknown if any foul play occurred.

Officials did not provide additional information.
