Life-size Taylor Swift cake falls apart before UK cake contest – Indianapolis News | Indiana weather | Indiana Traffic

BIRMINGHAM, England (WISH) — As Taylor Swift swept three shows Friday through Sunday in Indianapolis, the artist at Britain’s big competition lost her arms to the popular musician’s life-size cake.

30th annual Cake International competition in Birmingham, England. advertises showcasing the “incredible talents of cake artists from around the world!” Previous competitions have featured life-size cakes resembling people including King Charles and Queen Elizabeth I, as well as characters including Marvel comic book superhero Dogpool. Thousands of people attend the cake competition.

One of the attractions promoted in the lead up to this year’s show was the Swift Cake by renowned artist Elsa Baldzhiyska. The cake featured Swift in a bejeweled suit and Eras Tour boots. “Get ready to admire a cake worthy of a pop queen! The life-size cake promises to capture the charm and grace of Taylor Swift that will have fans drooling and taking selfies.” The cake competition website says.

According to media reports, the hands on the wrists of the Swift cake somehow became loose while being transported in the van.

Baldzhiyskaya was photographed on Friday as she tried to make repairs before the start of the competition.

But the cake turned out to be too shabby. The artist apparently admitted that she never managed to put the cake back together.

The confection was removed from public display on Friday.
