Complaints pour in on GMB as viewers fume over Ed Balls and Susanna Reid’s shake-up | Television and Radio | Show business and TV

Good Morning Britain viewers have made the same complaint as the ITV show was given a major shake-up.

On Tuesday (November 5) episode of GMB, presenters Ed Balls and Susanna Reid swapped the ITV studios for Washington DC to cover US elections.

While their co-stars were in the US, Richard Madeley and Kate Garraway shared the latest news with viewers across the UK.

Ed, 57, and Suzanne, 53, are giving GMB viewers exclusive coverage of the crucial election, with Democratic Vice-President Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump vying for the presidency.

The duo will remain in Washington until Wednesday and will host a program on the election results in the morning. However, viewers questioned why the anchors needed to cover the election from the US capital as they shared their thoughts on social media.

As for X, one wrote: “There’s not a single thing REID & BALLS will say or demonstrate in DC that couldn’t be done better in GMB’s London studio.”

Another agreed: “Why do Reed and Balls need to be standing in a Walmart parking lot in DC?” a third said: “So this exclusive report from two #gmb reporters flying to Washington, D.C. is a big, fat, pointless waste.”

Another viewer added: “Poor Suzanne Reid And Ed Ball is stuck in Washington, D.C., looking like a couple of budgies sitting on a beam with nothing to report and having to fill airtime with meaningless chatter.”

A fifth puzzled fan wrote: “Why the hell is Suzanne going to DC tomorrow, they already have reporters there.”

The shake-up was confirmed at the end of Monday’s episode of Good Morning Britain.

“Ed said, ‘Suzanne, grab your bags, we’re getting ready to go.’ Suzanne joked. “Tune in to Good Morning Britain tomorrow, live from Washington.”

Speaking to Radio Times, Suzanne said: “Ed Balls and I are flying straight to Washington after Good Morning Britain on Monday, November 4. We’ll soak up the atmosphere. We will then be on site presenting the Election Results Program on Wednesday morning.”

The mum-of-three added: “This is going to be one of those weeks where sleep takes a backseat. There are some stories where adrenaline and cortisone just flow through your body.”
