3000 km in 7 months on my CB350 RS: 7 reasons why I recommend it

Overall, this is an excellent alternative for those who have always wanted a retro motorcycle but were afraid to own a Royal Enfield.

BHPian abhinav.s recently shared this with other enthusiasts

The CB series bikes are simple air-cooled 350s that are easy to live with and have no hassle to maintain. I have an RS and have driven about 3k km in 7 months with quite a few 300km highway trips as well as a few city trips.

1. Comfort is very good and, if necessary, you can ride for more than 90 minutes without a break without any problems.
2. Has enough stability and stability to remain stable at 100km/h on expressways without any vibrations, excellent control under emergency braking (came across 2 or 3 such instances where the bike didn’t lose its composure or veer off line when moving to a single digit). speed from 60+ km/h), very good brakes and very light clutch.
3. No unpleasant/unwanted sounds near the engine head such as valve/pushrod noise etc.
4. The RS has a wonderful exhaust sound that pops and bangs as standard too!!
5. The 15L tank coupled with fuel consumption close to 35-36 km/L for my riding style gives a range of 400+ km/L which helps in unknown areas where fuel quality can be suspect.
6. This is subjective, but the RS in matte gray looks fantastic sitting still with minimal modifications to the bodywork, and I completely dechromed the bike with special edition matte black parts that I ordered and installed on my bike.
7. Service at both Big Wing Mysore and Bangalore was decent enough and there were no new issues with postal service, which is a major problem for untrained robots dealing with our machines.

Overall, this is an excellent alternative for those who have always wanted a retro motorcycle but were afraid to buy an RE (myself included). As mentioned by adi.mariner, several random incidents involving unprofessional handling of bikes by a bad service center have turned this topic into one of criticism and defense! While we as a community definitely sympathize with an owner who has been scammed by a service center, that in itself should not deter others from at least trying out the bike on a long test ride before deciding against it.
