Ohio State Buckeyes star could be top 10 pick in NFL Draft

Ohio State Buckeyes star could be top 10 pick in NFL Draft

After a strong performance from the offensive line and the entire defense against Penn State Nittany Lions, Ohio State Buckeyes shares are rising.

As Ohio State moves up to No. 2 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season, the number of individual player NFL draft picks could rise as well.

CBS Sports released a new mock 2025 NFL Draft on Wednesday, and the spot for wide receiver Emeka Egbuka is quite intriguing. In previous CBS Sports and other media mockups, Egbuka was linked to Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers And Buffalo Bills to name a few. Most of these picks will likely fall between number 16 and number 30 at this point.

In this new edition, Egbuka has already been selected number 8 by the magazine Miami Dolphins. Not only will the dangerous receiving weapon be the third wide receiver off the board. Colorado Travis Hunter and Arizona Tetairoa McMillan, but he could be part of a dangerous combination.

Currently, Tua Tagovailoa has a fast duo in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Given Hill’s age, the Dolphins could decide to move on this offseason. On the other hand, keeping Hill with Waddle and Egbuka would likely give Miami the strongest trio of receivers in the NFL.

If Hill is no longer on the Dolphins’ roster in 2025, Egbuka and Waddle would likely still be a strong combination at wideout. Egbooka’s playmaking ability, power and versatility in the field or slot will complement Waddle’s raw speed.

In this mock draft, Egbuka was one of two Buckeyes selected in the first round. Edge rusher Jack Sawyer has been linked to Baltimore Ravens with pickaxe number 24.

One thing is for sure: no matter where Egbuka lands, the likelihood of him finishing in the top 10 should increase due to his dominance on the field this season.
