‘Time Cut’ Dethroned into Netflix’s Top 10 List Thanks to New Movie

‘Time Cut’ Dethroned into Netflix’s Top 10 List Thanks to New Movie

It’s Christmas time, so we’ll see Christmas content rise in the ratings of streaming services. What is this, is this No Christmas time? Okay, then explain to me how Time Cut was dethroned by “Meet You Next Christmas” on List of the 10 best Netflix movies. Mat.

Time Cut, a truly terrible time-traveling horror film, ended its run in first place, giving way to a new Netflix original Christmas movie. It’s very much like one of those 1,000 low-budget Christmas movies that so many channels put out every year, and Netflix has always wanted to get in on the game. Here’s the premise of “See You Next Christmas”:

“Seeking a fairytale romance with the man of her dreams, Layla must race across New York City to score the hottest ticket in town: Pentatonix’s sold-out Christmas Eve concert.”

So, Jingle All The Way, but with tickets to Pentatonix? And if you’re not aware, Pentatonix are a very real a cappella group well known for their Christmas performances, and there’s no doubt that they’ll show up to sing in the movie, apparently.

The film stars Christina Milian and Devale Ellis and doesn’t seem to have enough critical reviews to actually score on Rotten Tomatoes. Of the five that exist, four are positive, so hey, not bad.

Netflix has actually been making original Christmas movies for a while now. One of the most notable examples was Lindsay Lohan’s return to screens in 2022 in the film Falling at Christmas, which performed well. In fact, there are… a lot of them.

Considering Meet Me Next Christmas is launching now, a week after Halloween, and the actual holiday is just under two months away, it’s clear that Netflix is going to launch them quickly over the next few weeks as people search for Christmas content on the service. I guess they don’t do too many Thanksgiving movies.

As for the Time Cut, the film received a score of 28% from critics and 32% from audiences. It’s unclear if it was ever supposed to get a sequel, but it’s a horror movie, so I’ll say there’s at least a 60% chance of it happening, no matter how bad it was. But he will have to balance the schedule of Netflix stars Antonia Gentry and Madison Bailey, who make up his cast, as they will be busy with Ginny, Georgia and Outer Banks, respectively.

I can’t say I’ll be watching See You Next Christmas like I’m watching a Christmas movie, it’ll be Elf, but we’ll see how long it stays on top.
