Jaguars tied to Bears Star OL

Jaguars tied to Bears Star OL

The Chicago Bears currently sit at 4-4 on the season after a tough loss to the Washington Commanders. The remaining schedule will not be kind to them. To add to this, Recent media rumors have linked Teven Jenkins to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jenkins, who is in his fourth year in the league and all-time with the Bears, has been linked to the Jaguars as of late as he will be a free agent at the end of the season. With the Jaguars’ current offensive line looking dismal, adding a player like Jenkins could shake things up and jumpstart this team for next year.

Jenkins has played in eight games this season and recorded two recoveries. While his numbers so far this year haven’t caught the eye, the 26-year-old could hit the ground running and start with the Jaguars if he lands in Jacksonville in the spring.

The Jaguars’ current offensive lineman is Brandon Sherrf, who will be 34 years old by next season. There may be something the Jaguars want to upgrade that catches Jenkins’ attention.

This could add to the dynamics of the team by adding another young, experienced star to accompany a team whose average age is 26 years old.

Another note worth mentioning is that Scherff’s recent injuries may have caught up with him. Any athlete who has knee issues needs to address them, and with Scherff missing Week 9 with this injury, only time will tell how much production the left guard has left.

For a team that appears to be in dire need of several key pieces on its offensive line, Jenkins would be a great fit if the Bears decide not to bring him back.

That said, with Chicago going through its ups and downs this season and focusing on giving its young quarterback some development on the field, moving a key defender like Jenkins may not be on the agenda.

However, it looks like this is a match made in heaven.

If Jenkins were to join the Jags in free agency, the team would likely send Ezra Cleveland, who has also continued to improve on the offensive line since being traded from the Minnesota Vikings in 2023.

Jenkins is projected to be in high demand this offseason as he ranks high among cornerbacks this season. If the Jaguars were to consider adding Jenkins to the team, a good contract would be key to outbidding Chicago.
