Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday took a strong stand against the Congress and the National Conference, condemning their call to restore Articles 370 and 35A.

The Chief Minister was speaking at an event organized by All India Bhojpuri Samaj at Lakshman Mela Ground on the auspicious occasion of Chhath Puja.

Referring to the recent proposal by the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly to restore these articles, he said that the Congress and its allies are seeking to drag the country and the valley back into the flames of terrorism.

“They are not willing to see the development of Jammu and Kashmir and a promising future for its youth. The nation will never accept their divisive agenda. India’s 140 million people stand firmly for the unity and integrity of the nation and are ready to respond decisively to any threat,” he said.

“Same fate as Articles 370, 35A”

Adityanath further warned that if the Congress does not oppose the proposal, it may suffer the same fate as Article 370 and 35A.

The Chief Minister also emphasized the importance of Chhath Puja and emphasized the need to protect national unity and integrity.

“When we are divided by caste and religion, others rule over us,” Adityanath said.

“While we come together at these festivals, some people living in India are undermining the essence of the country. No true Indian should tolerate this. But when we 140 crores speak in unison, no force can challenge India,” he added.

Adityanath sent a strong message to the Congress and the National Conference, saying their actions in Kashmir showed a “dangerous disregard for national unity, which the nation will never tolerate.”

CM Yogi urges Congress to condemn J&K resolution

On the occasion of Chhath Puja, the Chief Minister urged the Congress to condemn the resolution passed by the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.

The party’s fate could mirror the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A in Kashmir, he warned.

Addressing the gathering in Bhojpuri, Adityanath extended his warm wishes for Chhatha Mahaparva to all devotees, highlighting the devotion of mothers and sisters observing the difficult fast.

He recalled that on August 5, 2019, Prime Minister Modi decisively eradicated terrorism from the Kashmir Valley by abrogating Article 370 and 35A.

“This historic decision, approved by Parliament, removed the special status of Jammu and Kashmir from the Constitution. The world then witnessed a new, powerful India, peaceful but resolute in defense,” Adityanath said.

The Chief Minister emphasized India’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty and integrity, saying that the nation is ready to make any sacrifice to protect its identity and unity.

He strongly criticized the Congress, highlighting that it included Article 370 in the Constitution despite the opposition of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, thereby putting Kashmir on the path of violence and terrorism.

‘Article 370 will never come back’: UP CM

Adityanath recalled the unrest that followed, with widespread violence, targeted killings of Kashmiri Pandits and brutal attacks on anyone who expressed support for India.

“Though Congress initially called Article 370 a “temporary provision”, only Prime Minister Modi took the bold step of revoking it. Today, Kashmir is on the path of progress, with new educational institutions, hospitals, industries and a renewed sense of security that has allowed previously displaced residents to return home,” he said.

The Chief Minister condemned the recent resolution passed by the Congress and the National Conference in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly to reinstate Articles 370 and 35A, terming it a return to divisiveness and subversive politics.

He warned that the Congress’ actions signaled an intent to foment terrorism by undermining national unity.

Adityanath reiterated that Article 370, which has now been abrogated, cannot and will not come back, saying it is the root cause of mass violence, terrorism and killings of countless innocent people.

He called it a “bloody chapter” that once destroyed the social harmony and beauty of Kashmir, fueling religious extremism and turning the region into a center of terrorism.
