Suspect injured in shooting involving HCSO deputy in northeast Harris County, sheriff says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Multiple law enforcement agencies are responding to a deputy-involved shooting in northeast Harris County.

Thursday’s scene unfolds near Wilson Road and Beltway 8. Deputies were conducting a warrant service when the pursuit began, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

At some point during the incident, the suspect came out with a weapon and shots were fired. The suspect, who was seriously injured, was taken to the hospital.

Gonzalez said no injuries were reported to law enforcement officers.

Authorities are urging people to avoid the scene, which is on the east access road between Mesa and Wilson.
