Newly released Queen single reaches new chart peak

Just a few weeks ago, Queen turned one of the tracks from their decades-old album into a single. Fans of the legendary rock band rushed to turn this tune into a hit on many charts in the band’s home country. After some time, the song became more popular than ever as their fans still buy it in large quantities.

“The Night Comes Down” is riding high among British band Queen’s latest singles, climbing a couple of charts and returning to another list, reaching new highs just weeks after its debut.

This version reaches number one on the Official Vinyl Singles Chart. The ranking, which only takes into account the best-selling songs on vinyl in the UK, saw Queen move their current focus from number 20 to number 3, the highest position they have achieved in any ranking to date.

“The Night Comes Down” comes close to matching this figure in the official physical singles rankings, which include all formats, although vinyl often plays a very large role in where the title appears. The newly unveiled version of Queen rose from 24th place to fourth. This is a previously unknown peak in the ranking of only physical players.

At the same time, “The Night Comes Down” appears again on yet another list. The Queen track returns to the Official Singles Sales Chart at number 14. For the second time on the list – one less than the other two, where the song has already spent three frames – the song re-enters the race at number 14.

“The Night Comes Down” is one of two Queen tracks to return to multiple UK charts this week. Their song “Cool Cat” also returns to the charts, helping the band increase their presence in both the official physical singles charts and the official vinyl singles charts.

Queen originally released “The Night Comes Down” in 1973, but not as a single. The song was included in the band’s debut full-length album. Queen Iwhich helped them establish themselves as one of the brightest new names in rock music over half a century ago. The track was finally selected for promotion only when Queen I was re-released in honor of the anniversary, and fans were able to support this version as a separate release this fall.
