,000 reward offered for information on endangered gray wolves killed in Washington

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, along with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, is seeking information about the illegal killing of two federally listed endangered wolves.

FWS said one of the gray wolves was killed in Klickitat County and the other was killed in Okanogan County, Washington.

“The Service is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information leading to an arrest, criminal conviction, or civil penalty in each case,” FWS wrote.

FWS continues to note that on October 6, WDFW staff began investigating the death of an adult male gray wolf. This incident occurred east of the Klickitat River off U.S. Highway 142 near Goldendale, Klickitat County, Washington, according to FWS. .

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service also reported that on Oct. 20, WDFW opened a second investigation into another dead gray wolf, an adult female found southwest of Twisp in Okanogan County, Washington.

“The Service and WDFW are conducting a joint investigation,” FWS said in a press release. “Anyone with information about this case should call the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service FWS TIPs line at 1-844-FWS-TIPS (1-844-397-8477).”
