KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 20-year-old woman who assaulted a district constable at a police station on Tuesday has pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to the incident.

Teresa Paisley pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assaulting a district constable and resisting arrest before Chief Parish Court Judge Chester Crooks at Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

However, she pleaded not guilty to disorderly conduct.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on October 15, 2024, during which Paisley was taken to the police station and accused of making threats against a man.

According to court documents, when the man filed a police report, Paisley became violent at the police station.

The officer then attempted to arrest her, and Paisley reportedly struck the officer in the chest and grabbed the officer’s uniform.

The district constable has been on sick leave since the incident.

Paisley is due back in court on Dec. 16, 2024, when the judge ordered information about the wounded officer’s medical expenses to be presented to the court.
