Three UPDF members shot dead in Khagrachhari

Today (October 30), three United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) members were shot dead by some miscreants at Santi Ranjan Para in Panchari upazila of Khagrachhari district.

The deceased were identified as Sijon Chakma, Shahon Tripura and Joint Chakma.

The UPDF statement said a group of miscreants appeared there and opened fire on three of their activists at around 10am, leaving them dead on the spot.

Jashim Uddin, in-charge of Panchhari police station, said they heard sounds of gunfire but it would take time to recover the bodies as the killings took place in a remote area.

Meanwhile, the UPDF has announced to hold a dawn to dusk hartal in the district on Thursday.
