Who is the killer in Time Cut? Horrible ending explained

Time Cut is a time travel horror film in which a teenager travels back in time to save his sister’s life. Here’s how that ending plays out, including if she succeeds.

Time Cut is new Netflix a film that combines time travel and slasher kills. The trial began in Sweetly, Minnesota, in 2003, immediately after several teenagers were brutally murdered.

Summer Field (Antonia Gentry) grieves the loss of her friends when she too is killed. Set in 2024, her sister Lucy (Madison Bailey) is around the same age and is grieving the loss of Summer herself.

But she can do something about it, already at the beginning horror film Lucy finds a time machine in the barn that sends her back to the week of the murders. So will she save her sister’s life or create a paradox that destroys the space-time continuum? Read on to find out, but beware SPOILERS upcoming…

The paradox at the heart of Time Cut

As Lucy works with her new friend Quinn to save her sister, she comes to the conclusion that if Summer survives, her parents will not want to have another child, thereby jeopardizing her own existence..

This certainly complicates things on the night of Sweetly’s “Spring Romance” during which Summer was killed. History repeats itself in this timeline: the slasher follows Summer into the barn to kill her.

Meanwhile, Lucy’s attempts to collect antimatter so she can return to the present ends with her discovering that the time machine belongs to the killer, meaning he is also from the future.

“Sweet Slasher” Revealed

Just as Sweet Slasher is about to cut Summer down with his scythe, Lucy and Quinn drive a truck into the killer, saving her sister. But then the killer reveals himself, and it’s… Quinn from the future.

Time Cut heroes, one of whom is a villain.

Old Quinn chases young Quinn and the sisters back to his home, where he explains his motives in detail, preparing to kill them all.

“Everyone looked down on me,” he groans. “Nobody cared. They treated me like crap. And then the river happened. Oh, the river. They abandoned you (Young Quinn). And Summer laughed while you screamed. And then things got even worse. She only made the situation worse.

“Remember I wrote you (Summer) a letter? I poured out all my strength and you told me that you could never love us like that because you are pathetic. I wanted to escape, so I made a plan to kill Summer, all of her closest friends, and then just disappear through time.”

Lucy then turns on the time travel machine and sends herself and old Quinn back to the future. They then fight in the parking lot before she electrocutes him with a charging cable and then stabs Quinn in the chest, thus killing the killer.

Lucy then decides to leave 2024 and return to 2003 to be with her sister and new friend young Quinn. “You belong here,” Summer says in response to Lucy’s return. “This is your future.”
