Man accused of arson at Sulfur Church detained

SULFUR, Okla. (KXII) – A man has been arrested in connection with a church arson in Sulphur.

The Murray County Fire Marshal said the Oct. 12 fire at Sheppard of the Hills Presbyterian Church had multiple origins, leading them to believe it was arson.

Ethan Vanderburgh was arrested at the scene after he allegedly admitted to setting the fire.

Vanderburg faces several charges, including arson, second-degree burglary and endangering human life while setting the fire.

He is being held in the Murray County Jail on $10,000 bail.
