Truro City manager John Askey is unhappy with the 1-1 draw at Slough Town

Truro City manager John Askey was unhappy with the decision which led to Slough Town equalizing in his side’s 1-1 draw in the National League South.

After a scoreless first half, Will Dean came on as a substitute for Jazze Kabia to open the scoring in the 65th minute.

Kabia was on the field for just two minutes before he scored well from inside the box for his eighth goal of the season.

But Slough equalized 11 minutes later when Slavi Spasov fired in a corner that Asuka believed should never have been taken.

“We went one step up and I thought we would just see the game through and again an official’s decision inadvertently cost us money,” he told BBC Radio Cornwall.

“Their guy went to cross the ball, crossed it offside and for some strange reason he gave them a corner and they scored from the corner.

“I know we’ll have to protect him, but these things can cost you dearly.

“So we actually dropped three points, although I think teams will come here and it will be tough for them.”

The draw moved Truro up to second in the table, one point behind leaders Eastbourne Borough with a game in hand.
