The original members of Grim Reaper will play together for the first time in 30 years

Steve Grimmett, iconic vocalist of the British heavy metal band. Grim Reaperwill be marked with a one-day festival of remembrance later this month. The festival, called Wings Of Angels, will see the original members of the band perform together for the first time in 30 years.

The festival’s name comes from one of the band’s 2018 singles, “Walking in the Shadows.” This was one of the last songs in Grimmett’s career. died in 2022. Technically, the track is recorded under the band name “Steve Grimmett’s Grim Reaper” due to some legal issues that arose after the original band broke up in 1988. Either way, it’s ultimately up to Steve.

Following Grimmett’s passing, fans searched for a way to properly pay tribute to the legend, which prompted his wife Millie to take action. She’s organizing a festival where, along with a Grim Reaper reunion (featuring Jag Panzer’s Harry Conklin on voice), a host of guests will present their own takes on Grimmett’s vocals. The headliner will be Chris Holmes, former WASP guitarist.

It’s only right that the Wings Of Angels festival pays tribute to this, presenting a packed line-up of metal acts from around the world and afar. “Steve’s influence on music was such that people from all over the world contacted us to buy tickets to join us in Swindon, UK for the Wings Of Angels concert. People have been sharing stories and photos on our social media pages and it’s great to see this outpouring of love for a man who has done so much to shape the metal scene for several decades.”
