Prince Harry Goes Viral as Unearthed Clip Shows Duke ‘Nervous’ About Royal Family | Royal | News

A TikTok video of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at their last official royal engagement has gone viral and appears to show the 40-year-old Duke in a “nervous” state.

After announcing their intention to quit the royal family in 2020 and move abroad to live a more independent life, the couple attended their last royal engagements in March of that year.

While many saw it as an emotional time as the couple’s fans desperately wanted them to avoid going abroad, it turned out that the final week of royal duties, dubbed the “Farewell Tour”, was also difficult for Harry and Meghan.

A video has emerged of the couple’s last official appearance with the rest of the senior royals at a Commonwealth Day event at Westminster Abbey, with the Duke looking sad.

TikTok the video plays a clip of the event with voiceover of Meghan and Harry talking about the event in their Netflix documentary series “Harry and Meghan”, released in 2022.

Prince Harry said: “We were nervous to see the family. Because all the TV cameras, everyone watching at home, and everyone watching in the audience… it’s like living in a soap opera where everyone else views you as entertainment.

“I felt very distant from the rest of my family, and it was interesting because a lot of how they work is about what it looks like, not how it feels. And it looked cold. But it was also cold.”

Robert Lacey recounted this moment in his 2020 book Battle of Brothers. He wrote: Observers also noted that Harry’s face was “rather tense and unsmiling” – and that when William sat down next to him, he barely said hello to his brother.

“Throughout the service, Meghan flashed her best TV smile, but Harry seemed to grow increasingly gloomy as the ceremony progressed.
