Rutland to speak at lunch, housing development opens | Business

ACG organizes events in Baton Rouge, New Orleans

James B. “Pepper” Rutland will be the guest speaker at the Baton Rouge Association for Corporate Growth luncheon at noon Wednesday at the Baton Rouge City Club, 355 North Blvd.

Rutland is the founder and CEO of MMR Group, the largest publicly traded electrical and instrumentation contractor in the United States.

Admission is free for ACG Louisiana members and $75 for non-members.

Edgar “Duc” Chase IV will be the guest speaker at the ACG New Orleans luncheon at noon on November 12 at the Windsor Court Hotel, 300 Gravier St.

Chase is the fourth generation of the family that founded Dooky Chase’s Restaurant. He is the owner and executive chef of Chapter IV, a breakfast and lunch restaurant downtown.

Admission is free for ACG members and $75 for non-members.

Affordable housing complex opens in north Baton Rouge

Joor Place Nature Reserve is open at 4663 Joor Place Drive.

The 360-unit complex was developed by CST Multifamily Real Estate Services. The $93 million complex is designed for residents and families who earn between 50% and 70% of the area median income.

The Reserve at Joor Place features amenities such as a multi-purpose club, fitness center, dog park and playground.
