MAHLOW: A Letter to Voters for Soil and Water Conservation

MAHLOW: A Letter to Voters for Soil and Water Conservation

My name is Paul Mahlow and I am the candidate for the Soil and Water Conservation District. Named in a recent article, those of you who may have read it may have misinterpreted it.

I was asked to serve the same way I was asked to serve in Vietnam. There was a call, and I served as a helicopter pilot.

I have not listed the numerous qualifications, but my almost 40 years of experience in environmental, health and safety management has given me experience of working with regulations relating to the protection of water, air and soil.

My Bachelor’s degree in Economics (BA) helps me understand the economic pressures we face, and my Bachelor’s degree in Security Management prepared me for public administration.

My JD (law degree) helps me understand the rules and formulate answers or plans to address them.

The writer was not interested in my qualifications, but only in criticism of the Republican Central Committee and its leadership. My interest is in protecting small independent farmers and their water and property rights as population and development continue to encroach.

They feed us and deserve the opportunity to succeed instead of the limitations they currently face. If the writer were interested, she could call me, as other voters did. She didn’t.

Finally, I did not accept contributions to this campaign in an unpaid position, but if you elect me, I will serve Kootenai and Shoshone County.

PAUL MALOW
