Kathy Hochul ‘reminds’ New Yorkers that voting Republican is un-American

Governor of New York Kathy Hochul said a rally in New York City for Donald Trump last week backfired on him and gave her an opportunity to “remind” New Yorkers that voting Republican in the state makes them personally “un-American.”

The Democrat appeared on MSNBC. PoliticsNation Saturday to discuss the election and Trump rally with the host Rev. Al Sharpton.

Sharpton first asked Hochul about the state House race and the potential Democratic majority before moving on to the question of Trump rallywhich became the source of considerable controversy, and in particular a joke at the expense of Puerto Rico from the comic’s opening act, which Hochul said was “very painful.”

“You don’t think there should be leaders in this great country who either say that themselves or would tolerate it at one of their rallies,” she said. “I think this rally backfired on him.”

She then said it helped her prove to the people of the state that voting Republican is voting against America. and, in particular, that the Republicans of New York are not separate or distinct from the party in other places.

“It gave me an opportunity to connect the Republicans running for these seats, the incumbents, closer to Donald Trump,” she said, and “to remind everyone that if you vote for these Republicans in New York, you are voting for somebody.” . who supports Donald Trump, and you are anti-women, you are anti-abortion, and essentially you are anti-America.”

Sharpton did not ask about any further action on the governor’s attacks on his constituents as un-American.

This gives me, as someone who is leading the effort in our state, to ensure that we turn these seats around on the battlefield. This gave me the opportunity to connect the Republicans running for these seats, the incumbents, closer to Donald Trump, and remind everyone: if you vote for these Republicans in New York, you are voting for someone who supports Donald Trump, and you” You are anti-women, you are anti-abortion, and essentially you are anti-America. Because you just trashed American values and what our country is all about, over and over again. And you’ll wear it on Election Day.
