Hyderabad: The Telangana Police Women’s Safety Cell organized a meeting with various voluntary organizations and government departments regarding the Pan India Child Labor Rescue and Rehabilitation Programme.

National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCCPCR) As per the directives, the Women’s Security Branch launched a special rescue and rehabilitation campaign on October 21, which will continue until November 20.


Shikha Goel stressed the need for proper follow-up measures for children rescued from various operations carried out in the past. She stressed the need to create a single portal for all stakeholders to facilitate effective monitoring of post-rescue follow-up. Officials have been directed to regularly update and review data related to hotspots and ensure a robust mechanism for frequent monitoring of previously reported cases and their current status.

Shikha Goel emphasized that thanks to the dedicated efforts of the state Anti-Human Trafficking Units (AHTU)thousands of children were rescued from dangerous and exploitative circumstances, an achievement that received national recognition and inspired similar initiatives in other states.

The All India Rescue and Rehabilitation Campaign will focus on rescuing children and youth employed in various productive areas in the districts including small and large scale industries such as factories, dhabas, industrial units, hotels, shops, organized and unorganized sectors such as mines, brick production. furnaces and construction sites. Rehabilitation of children will be ensured under the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and the Child and Adolescent Labor (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986.
