The winter session of parliament will begin on November 25.

The winter session of Parliament will begin on November 25 and will last until December 20, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Tuesday. He also said that the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, which will be celebrated on November 26, Constitution Day, will be a special celebration.

In a post on X, Rijiju wrote, “The Hon’ble President on the advice of the Government of India has approved the proposal to convene both Houses of Parliament for the Winter Session 2024 from 25th November to 20th December 2024 (depending on the needs of parliamentary affairs). On November 26, 2024 (Constitution Day), the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, this event will be celebrated in the central hall of the Samvidhan Sadan.”

The Joint Committee on the Waqf Amendment Bill is expected to submit its report on November 29 in Parliament if it adheres to the deadline set for it in the previous session.

The winter session will begin two days after the results of the Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly elections are declared.
