Citadel Honey Bunny X Review: Fans Praise Raj and DK’s Skill, Samantha Varun Dhawan’s Brilliance

The much-awaited series Honey Bunny’s Citadel, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, debuted on Prime Video on November 7th.

Directors Raj and D.K. is an Indian prequel to the original 2023 Citadel series, The film, starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden, is set in the global spy action universe created by the Russo Brothers. Since its release, the spy thriller has captured the attention of audiences, generating a wave of excitement and positive feedback on social media.

Apart from the stellar cast that includes Saqib Saleem, K.K. Menon, Kashvi Majmundar, Shivankit Singh Parihar, Sikander Kher and Soham Majumdar, the six-episode series is winning love for its fast-paced, straightforward and incredibly engaging storyline.

Viewers noted that the series by Raja and DK exceeded expectations, eclipsing even the Russo Brothers.

One user X wrote: “#CitadelHoneyBunny is a surprisingly entertaining show. I found it very interesting and I was never bored. Raj and D.K. definitely understand the secret to attracting an audience. All the actors did a wonderful job. 8/10 #AmazonPrime #SamanthaRuthPrabhu #VarunDhawan (sic).”

Another viewer praised Samantha and wrote, “#Samantha #SamanthaRuthPrabhu is looking at fitness at 37! and the stunts she did in #CitadelHoneyBunny were unreal, here she is checking out her bruises and wow! If an actor can show off his muscles after a fight, why can’t an actress do the same? Don’t sexualize (sic).”

A third user echoed similar sentiments and wrote, “Raj and DK. presented Citadel with another masterpiece: Honey Bunny. With a solid story, killer performances (thanks to Varun and Samantha) and classic direction by Raj and DK, this is a WIN (sic).”

Another wrote: “Watching now: citadel bunny, very excited about this (sic).”

Citadel Honey Bunny review by India Today Digital read: The world of the Citadel is interesting, but requires patience from you. It has hidden pleasures and strong action, but it doesn’t seem to appeal to everyone. Luxurious cars are not burned here, expensive planes do not fly, and huge buildings are not demolished.

The heart of the story is in the right place and there is a cliffhanger, but you’ll have to give the series a chance.
