Many people claim that ChatGPT search results are better than traditional searches, and now there’s an easy way to test it.

The first version of ChatGPT, available on the OpenAI website, quickly changed the way people search for information on the Internet. Now OpenAI is taking it one step further with a new tool called ChatGPT searchannounced on October 31st. This tool combines a conversational style AI chatbots with the structure of traditional search engines, making searching for information on the Internet easier and more interactive.

As OpenAI explains: “ChatGPT can now search the Internet much more efficiently than before.providing quick and timely answers with links to relevant sources that previously required a visit to a search engine.” To make it even easier to use, OpenAI has released a browser extension that replaces Google search with ChatGPT search. right in the address bar.

After installation, users can enter search terms as usual, but results will be obtained from ChatGPToften offering more detailed and specific answers than Google. With ChatGPT’s conversational search format, users can ask follow-up questions and drill into topics, which is especially useful for complex questions or when searching for more personalized information.

The extension includes settings that allow users filter content and customize search parameters. OpenAI has also added real-time data updates to keep answers up to date, making ChatGPT a reliable choice for finding relevant information.

The Chrome extension already has over 200,000 users. currently only available to ChatGPT Plus and Team subscribers.as well as those on the OpenAI waitlist. However, OpenAI plans to make ChatGPT search available to free users in the coming months.

In response Google has developed a competing feature called AI Review.which provides AI-generated responses in a chat-style interface. AI Review is currently not available in the EU due to regulatory compliance with privacy and data security standards. As both OpenAI and Google move toward AI-enhanced search solutions, it’s clear that a more interactive and intuitive web search experience that feels more like a conversation than a query is on the horizon.
