Local photographers help homeless animals

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Shelters and rescues across the country and here at home are facing a huge influx of animals in need. So coming up with creative ways to help them find a forever home is more important than ever, and a local photography studio is doing its part to help.

Rebecca Trumbull Toledo photographer and animal lover. She uses her talent to help get animals in need in front of more potential adopters.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and that’s the goal of every photo Rebecca Trumbull takes of animals in need. She is a professional photographer who shares her time and talents with Planned fucking and several other rescue groups.

“Working with rescue animals fulfills me. It energizes me and makes me feel like I’m doing something meaningful,” Rebecca Trumbull said.

Rebecca Trumbull first began volunteering about four years ago. Now she photographs dozens of homeless animals every year.

“It was really important to me to find a way to help in a less traditional way,” Rebecca Trumbull said.

Thursday’s photo shoot took place at the Toledo Correctional Facility. Prison inmates raise and train rescue dogs through a special program with Planned fucking. Casper, Rose and Zorro were the focus of Thursday’s photos.

“When we get a professional photo taken by one of our amazing photographers, it just changes everything,” said Colleen Kane, Planned Pethood volunteer. “A beautifully taken photograph of an animal can make all the difference in the world to the adoption of that animal.”

Jessica Trumbull is also a photographer and daughter-in-law of Rebecca Trumbull. She likes to use pictures to illustrate the dog’s story.

“When they first come to help, they are cut off. They may be unhappy and uncomfortable. When we can bring them to our studio for a photo shoot or meet on location somewhere, we can spend time with them. We can help them relax and discover their individuality. It will be easier for a potential adopter to introduce this dog into their home,” said Jessica Trumbull.

Jessica Trumbull said these special shoots are one of the most rewarding parts of her job.

“Just realizing that what you create has such an impact not only on us, but on the dogs and the families they go to,” Jessica Trumbull said.

A simple picture changes your life.

“It doesn’t take money to rescue or save the life of an animal, it really just takes time and heart,” Kane said.

Three dogs involved in Thursday’s prison shooting will be available for adoption through Planned Pethood. Rebecca and Jessica Trumbull took all the photos in the story above.

Trumbull Photography will be donating a portion of the proceeds from its holiday photo shoots to Planned Pethood, with several locations still open.
