Numerous raiders have received national recognition

The Las Vegas Raiders have had a disappointing season after leaving training camp with high expectations. However, things didn’t go well for the Raiders as injuries and trade demand derailed the season.

While the Raiders’ collective season has been subpar, many of their players have had productive seasons individually. Khaled Elsayed of Pro Football Focus recently named the AFC West midseason team, and the Raiders had several players on the list.

Raiders star defensive lineman Maxx Crosby was named one of the top two offensive players in the division. The veteran defenseman always played well, no matter how the team was doing. Crosby has been one of the Raiders’ most productive and consistent players over the past few seasons.

“Crosby just passed Jonathan Cooper with his excellent 72.5 passer rating,” Khaled Elsayed said.

Although Crosby is known for his passing ability, his presence and interior defensive line make it difficult for opponents to get the ball into Crosby’s court. Opposing offenses should be a concern for Crosby on a weekly basis.

General manager Tom Telesco and the Raiders made a big splash when they selected tight end Brock Bowers in the last NFL Draft. The addition of Bowers was a welcome addition to an offense that has struggled to move the ball and score points.

While the Raiders needed help at other positions, they wisely drafted the best player available, and it has already begun to bear fruit as Bowers is on historic pace in many statistical categories.

“It’s significant that this is the only division where we drafted two tight ends,” Khaled said. “Bowers hit the ground running as a freshman and has already proven to be a threat in the passing game, ranking second among qualifying players with an 88.0 receiving grade.”

Veteran wide receiver Jakobi Meyers was listed on the team as one of the best receivers in the division, high praise for being a worthy but often overlooked part of the Raiders’ stacked offense. Meyers has also been one of the Raiders’ most consistent players since he arrived last season.

“(Ladd) McConkey and (Jakobi) Meyers are having strong seasons, with both records receiving grades of 76.6 or higher,” Khaled said.
