All of Donald Trump’s cameos on television and in films ahead of the US presidential election

The former president and current Republican presidential candidate is no stranger to being on camera. Before entering politics, he regularly appeared in television shows and films, always playing himself and often referring to his personal wealth.

He’s technically an award-winning actor, having won three of the four Golden Raspberries he was nominated for. Trump also hosted and co-produced 14 seasons of the reality show “The Apprentice,” which pitted people against each other for contracts promoting his real estate business.

A new Trump biopic called The Apprentice recently hit theaters. Sebastian Stan plays the handsomely coiffed young Trump in seventies New York, who works as a rent collector for his father and dreams of opening a hotel downtown. Jeremy Strong is a Svengali-like lawyer who takes a would-be real estate mogul under his wing and turns him into a businessman who achieves success at any cost.

It was well received by critics, but Trump himself is not a fan of the look. On social media, he called it a “disgusting piece of work” and asked his lawyers to send a cease-and-desist letter to the producers after the film’s premiere in Cannes.

Trump clearly prefers only Trump to play Trump. Here are just a few of the many films and TV series where he had at least a minor role.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)

It’s 1992, and Donald Trump is starting to infiltrate popular culture. After appearing in the soap opera All My Children and the miniseries Boss Lady, he played his most famous cameo role in the film Home Alone 2.

An equally festive sequel to Home Alone has been released. Macaulay Culkin reprise his role as Kevin McCallister to continue his jokes all the way to the Plaza Hotel in New York, which Trump owned at the time. Trump appears for a few seconds, showing Kevin the way to the lobby.

Director Chris Columbus claimed Trump “bullied” him on set by insisting that his role be included in the deal to film at the hotel. Of course, Trump says differently. “I was very busy and didn’t want to do it,” he said. “They were very nice, but above all, persistent.”

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1994)

Trump next appeared in an episode Will Smith The hit of the nineties, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Accompanied by his second wife, Marla Maples, Trump shows up at the Banks family home, wanting to buy it, mistakenly believing it to be his childhood home.

He manages to cram a lot of complimentary comments about Trump into his two-minute speech. The cast admires his supposed wealth, he offers to make a deal, and Carlton faints with excitement when he meets “Donald”.

Little Rascals (1994)

In The Little Rascals, Trump did have a character he could sink his teeth into, although the casting of types probably helped. As Waldo, the insufferable father of a rich kid, he answers his son’s phone call during a kids’ go-kart race. When Waldo promises to win, Trump tells him that he is “the best son money can buy.”

It’s a skippable cameo, but the nineties brick cell phones steal the scene.

Trump made a guest appearance on the sitcom The Nanny starring Fran Drescher.

Drescher has since told a revealing anecdote about the notes Trump took from the script. Speaking on Seth Rogan’s podcast, she said Trump’s team insisted on changing the phrase “You millionaires know each other” to reflect the businessman’s claim to billionaire status. A compromise was reached by calling Trump a less specific “millionaire.”

There is a gag with two mobile phones that Trump displays with the index raised, which has become one of his calling cards.

Yes, Trump really was in Sex and the City. Samantha is enjoying a smart post-cocktail in the eighth episode of the second season (“Man, Myth, Viagra”) when Trump appears in a bar booth, checking Kim Cattrall character and name leaving their office in (where else) Trump Tower.

“Samantha, the cosmopolitan, and Donald Trump,” Carrie’s voiceover sounds. “You just can’t get more New York than this.”

The Plaza Hotel also makes a cameo appearance at the end of the season as the location of Big’s engagement to Natasha.

By the beginning of the millennium, Trump had already divorced two wives and was dating an American model of Slovenian origin, Melania Knavs. It’s the former First Lady who appears alongside him in their cameo in Zoolander, where they are pictured on the red carpet.

The scene was filmed at a real fashion awards show, and participants were asked to improvise lines about fictitious male models. “Look, without Derek Zoolander, male modeling wouldn’t be what it is today,” Trump says.

Ben Stiller, who plays Zoolander, said that Since then, people have asked him to cut down Trump’s appearance.. “I’ve had people reach out to me and say, ‘You should take Donald Trump out of Zoolander,’” he said. “But in the end, it was a time that existed, and it happened.”

Hugh Grant And Sandra Bullock star of the classic 2000s romantic comedy about a clueless billionaire and his disillusioned assistant who is forced to quit. Grant has an entire conversation with Trump in which they argue about Trump’s threats to steal his new assistant.

However, the future president did not make much of an impression on the actor. “He always wanted to be in my stuff,” Grant said on The Graham Norton Show. “But the thing is, I don’t remember it very well.” Trump remembered this clearly: he made Grant a member of his golf club, Trump National New York.

Trump’s on-screen appearance is also quite sleazy, with actress Nicole Walker begging him for a job, hinting that she’ll sleep with him.

Trump’s connections to WWE Take yourself back to the 1980s when wrestling shows were held at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City. Trump starred in the 23rd annual WrestleMania, billed as the “Battle of the Billionaires,” where he fought fellow businessman Vince McMahon through wrestling proxies. When Trump won, he had to shave McMahon’s head.

Trump has maintained his ties to WWE since he entered politics. Hulk Hogan becoming one of many celebrities to endorse him as a candidate.
