Milwaukee voting machine glitch will require 30,000 votes to be recounted, city officials say

About 30,000 ballots cast by Milwaukee voters will have to be recounted due to a tabulator glitch.

City Representative Jeff Fleming Fox News branch reportedsaid Tuesday that the doors of 13 sealed counting machines did not close properly, affecting early absentee and in-person voting.

Opened ballots will need to be processed again, which could take several hours, the city said.

Paulina Gutierrez, executive director of the Milwaukee Board of Elections, coached election workers on how to address the problem moving forward.
