Chicago Med has pushed Archer and Lenox to the point of no return and I’m not sure which side I’m on

Spoilers ahead for NBC’s sixth episode. Chicago Med The tenth season is called “Forget Me Not”.

In the end, the teenager was dead, a threat was made, and I think it’s safe to call it an incident that pushed them to the point of no return if things didn’t work out. And although Archer has become one of my favorites One Chicago characters, I still can’t decide who to root for with promo suggesting that someone should leave the ED.

The thing that went wrong

This episode featured two treatment options for an injured teenager (which will be available to stream from Peacock subscription), and none of them were particularly good. On the one hand, they could continue to treat him and monitor his brain problems to make sure the situation doesn’t get worse, viewing surgery as the very last resort. On the other hand, the chances of success of the operation would be higher if they started it as soon as possible, rather than waiting until the teenager got worse.

Archer wanted to continue taking the medication and hope for the best; Lenox wanted to have surgery, but Dr. Abrams on her side. Archer managed to persuade Abrams to delay the operation until Jordan’s parents could be contacted, leaving Lenox out of luck… until she realized that the man running the camp had legal permission to make decisions about Jordan’s treatment without his presence parents.

So Jordan went into surgery with Dr. Abrams and Dr. Lenox operating. Alas, the teenager’s condition quickly deteriorated and he died on the table, despite all efforts to resuscitate him. Lenox was nearly in tears afterward, telling Archer, “Save it,” as he burst in to confront her.

And since we are talking about Archer, he definitely didn’t save it! He ranted that “the blame for this falls squarely on her” and that Jordan “would still be here if it weren’t for her.” Lenox stood firm in her opinion and insisted that Jordan was a “ticking time bomb” and the surgery gave him a chance. She noted that sometimes patients simply die, and he is not always right. They both looked furious and Archer told her that she would “answer for this.”

Which side should we be on?

I instinctively side with Archer just because he’s suddenly become one of my favorite characters. after he contacted Hannah and showed another side of his personality. But just because Archer is fun to watch doesn’t mean he’s always right, and he hasn’t really given Lenox a chance in the ER since he found out he was supposed to share the lead role with her. How actress Sarah Ramos explained to CinemaBlendLenox would have been fired if she treated Archer the way Archer treats her.

And although Lenox hasn’t opened up much (or felt the Halloween spirit in a costume), she clearly sympathized with her patients and seemed almost as upset by Jordan’s death as she was Hannah did this when she lost a patient. last month. At the end of this episode, Archer wasn’t screaming at a brick wall, and it’s worth noting that Dr. Abrams agreed to perform the surgery, and Stephen Weberthe character didn’t yell at him in the hallway.

It’s too early to tell if Goodwin heard about what happened in Forget Me Not and came to the conclusion that Archer and Lenox couldn’t work together, and I’m curious to see if she’ll even blame herself for it. voltage.
