Stark County man with knife in Halloween costume faces trial

STARK COUNTY, Ohio (VOYO) – A man accused of wearing a Halloween costume and a Jason mask while holding a knife and running into the road will be arraigned Friday morning.

Jacob Weisgarber, 35, was charged Monday with resisting arrest, obstructing official business, aggravated menacing and inciting panic in connection with the Sept. 17 incident.

Stark County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 1400 block of Ruff Road. Southwest into Canton Township around 8:30 a.m.

When they arrived, police say Weisgarber threatened them with a knife and then ran onto U.S. 30 into traffic.

Deputies said they were able to conduct a traffic stop to prevent the collision and used a stun gun on Weisgarber to take him into custody.

Jacob Paul Weisgarber is charged with two counts of aggravated menacing, one count of obstructing official business, one count of inciting panic and one count of resisting arrest, court documents show.

Weisgarber was also wanted on warrants for aggravated drug possession and attempted grand larceny.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on November 8th.
