Bayer Leverkusen’s Amin Adli is out until at least the end of January with a broken fibula.

Bayer Leverkusen announced Forward Amin Adli is sidelined until at least the end of January due to a fractured fibula he suffered during a game. Draw 1:1 with Brest in the Champions League.

Adley underwent surgery on his leg yesterday and will now begin his rehabilitation at the BayArena. Adley’s recovery date won’t be until January if all goes well. The turnaround came after Soumaila Koulibaly forced Adly off the field in the 81st minute, just under 20 minutes after he was brought on as a substitute.

Heavenly Germany reports that the club will still be keen to offer him a contract extension despite the injury.

About Adly’s injury, head coach Xabi Alonso said:

“Amin’s injury is a big loss for us. He is a very important player and has a very big influence on the team. We all appreciate him very much. I spoke to him yesterday after the surgery and he was fine.”

The 24-year-old has struggled for Leverkusen this season, making 12 appearances for the club, mostly off the bench, and is yet to score or provide an assist.

Leverkusen are well equipped on the attacking front to replace Adly. In addition to starters Victor Boniface and Florian Wirtz, die Werkself has Nathan Tella, Martin Terrier, Jonas Hofmann and Patrick Schick who can replace them. However, other than Tella, no other option can match the speed and dynamism with which the Moroccan team comes off the bench.
