Ring Cameras is hosting a “Great Ghost Hunt” video contest for a 0,000 cash prize just in time for Halloween

The Great Ghost Hunt begins just in time for Halloween and goes door-to-door trick-or-treating thanks to Ring cameras.

During what the company calls “the busiest doorbell season of the year,” those who send unedited videos for what they believe to be the unexplained mysteries of this spooky season could receive a $100,000 cash prize.

Videos can be “funny, scary, trendy” or “all of the above.” Since announcing the competition on September 23, Ring has already received more than 2,000 customer videos. To qualify, video clips must be no more than 30 seconds long and shot on an existing Ring device.

Some customer submitted videos were provided to Fox News Digital by Ring and we leave it up to the viewer’s discretion whether to believe them or not.

In the video, filmed from a home in Los Angeles, a shadowy figure suddenly appears in the frame and appears to carry a drink onto their patio floor.

Homeowner shared, “I don’t know of any specific ghost story, but I sometimes hear creaking noises when going up and down the stairs at night. I thought it was paranoia that made me think that normal creaking noises in the house sounded like footsteps.”

A daycare owner and Ring customer from Fort Collins, Colorado, says they are “believers” after capturing what they believe is a ghost on an indoor camera, saying, “I mind my own business and then bam – in the Ring. Camera, a shadowy figure floats out of the room and slides straight into the bathroom. And yes, it looks like Casper feels right at home. This is not a shadow or a trick of light – it is a clear, unmistakable figure moving with her. target.”

“You can’t help but wonder if this little spirit just wanted to watch some preschool fun, or maybe he was looking for a quiet place. Either way, it’s creepy and exciting! My neighbor who has lived here since the 70’s said this land is sacred and haunted… Even though I have videotaped the haunting and over the years there have been strange events from flying books to creepy finds in the refrigerator “I believe,” added the owner of a kindergarten from Colorado.

Another “ghost” video was filmed in Tampa, Florida, using a Ring video intercom while schools were closed due to Hurricane Helen. A client shared, “This is a story about the stupid ghost of 13-year-old Bronson. Official judges for the competition include Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard and paranormal investigator Katrina Weidman. Videos are judged on four criteria: visibility or clarity of the “ghost”, uniqueness of the recording, entertainment value and engagement.
