Man charged with burglary and assault after mass search at Hilton

HILTON, N.Y. — A man is facing burglary and assault charges after a massive search in Hilton Wednesday morning.

Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a domestic disturbance at a duplex complex around 1 a.m. Deputies say the suspect ran away as they approached him, beginning a search with drones and a K-9 unit. Officers eventually arrested the man, Joseph Ortiz-Serrano, near Archer Driver and Marple Lane.

Ortiz-Serrano also faces charges of strangulation and criminal mischief. There is no information yet about the condition of the victim. We have reached out to lawmakers for more information.
