Jose Mourinho went crazy as his Fenerbahce team claimed their final win in the Turkish Super League against Trabzonspor on Sunday 3 November. The Portuguese coach staged his iconic kneeling celebration after Sofyan Amrabat struck the winner late in the second half. stoppage time to inspire a 3-2 victory. As soon as the final whistle blew, Mourinho held a grand celebration at Papara Park. He ran onto the field and performed his signature knee slide. However, the 61-year-old man was unable to complete it and ended up collapsing to the ground.

Mourinho did not have time to get to his feet. He was almost surrounded by Fenerbahce players and other members of the coaching staff, who were visibly elated after picking up three points in the away match. The club boss hugged goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic, who also earned plenty of praise for the narrow victory.

Once the on-field action was completed, Mourinho addressed the media and expressed his dissatisfaction with the poor refereeing. Atilla Karaoglan, who refereed the match, found himself in the line of fire due to several controversial decisions.

Shedding light on these incidents, Mourinho said in the post-match press conference: “Man of the match was Atilla Karaoglan. The Invisible Man. The referee on the field is just a child. We don’t want to see him in our matches anymore. We don’t want him to be a VAR either. We also don’t want him on the field.”

“Before I came here, they told me a lot of things, but I didn’t believe them. This was even worse. We faced a good team and they fought well, but we are playing against the system,” the Special One added (via Sun Sport).

Former Manchester United player Fred broke Fenerbahce’s deadlock moments before the first-half whistle. Simon Banza converted back-to-back penalties to give Trabzonspor the lead in the second half. Eden Dzeko then equalized for Fenerbahçe.

In the 102nd minute, Sofyan Amrabat made a brilliant run into the opponent’s penalty area and scored the ball accurately from close range from 12 yards. After the away win, Fenerbahçe trails Galatasaray by five points in the Turkish Super League.
