Social media warns Maya Rudolph not to do this on ‘SNL’ this week

It’s hard to say how “Saturday Night Live” will be discussing the election results this week, but some people have named one thing they hope will show doesn’t do.

As the results came in in President-elect Donald Trump’s favor Tuesday night, people couldn’t help but recall the same feeling they had in 2016 when he defeated Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and the polarizing picture that followed.

For those with a short memory: the first episode of SNL after Trump won the 2016 election. Kate McKinnon as Clinton performs “Hallelujah.”

Tuesday night’s echoes of 2016 have some social media users wondering if Maya Rudolph, who portrayed Vice President Kamala Harris sat at the piano in a long-running comedy show.

Rudolph was recently joined by a Democratic presidential candidate. during the cold opening of the show in its latest release.

If she appears on this week’s episode, hosted by Bill Burr, it will undoubtedly be top secret until 11:30 pm on Saturday night.

HuffPost reached out to NBC to see if Rudolph would continue to play Harris this season, but no one immediately responded.

However, many were adamant that the show would not take the same approach as it did in 2016.

Others have tried to predict Rudolph by choosing a more relevant tune for 2024.

Meanwhile, others were simply sad that Rudolph won’t be able to do stand-up comedy on “SNL” for the next four to eight years.
