MILWAUKEEEdgar Padilla from Milwaukee pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree reckless endangerment in connection with a stabbing that occurred at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in January.

Padilla is now scheduled to appear for sentencing on December 12.

Case Details

Milwaukee Police have confirmed a stabbing at St. Mary’s Hospital in Columbia on the morning of Monday, January 29th. The call came in just after 6am.

The hospital is located at the corner of Lake Drive and North Avenue.

According to Milwaukee Police: An 18-year-old man stabbed a 47-year-old hospital employee, who Ascension later confirmed was a security guard, who was treated for non-fatal injuries.

An 18-year-old suspect was detained.

Ascension Wisconsin said a security guard was injured during an argument with a suspect who came to the emergency room. The hospital said safety is a priority and is grateful to everyone who worked together to keep everyone safe.

No one else was hurt.
